Max Maurin

Max Maurin (MD, PhD) is a Professor of Bacteriology at Grenoble Alpes University (Grenoble, France) and the Director of the Bacteriology Laboratory of Grenoble Alpes University Hospital.

He is also the head of the French reference center for tularemia.

He teaches bacteriology to medical students and Master’s students.

Since 1991, his field of research and expertise has mainly concerned bacterial zoonotic agents and their resistance to antibiotics.

More recently, in collaboration with academic and industrial partners, his laboratory has developed new antibiotics and evaluated innovative diagnostic strategies for sepsis.

During these research activities, he was able to supervise in large numbers of Masters 2 or PhD students.

He has published more than 150 articles and 50 book chapters.

He is a coinventor of six patents.
