Dr Antonio Prodi obtained a degree in Biological Science at UNIBO in 2001 carrying a term of grant study at the University of California Davis (USA) for the preparation of the thesis. In 2005 he got his PhD in Induced Resistance to Plant Pathogens with a thesis entitled “Induction of PTGS for Cpkk1 and Cpkk2 gene silencing, two MAPKK of Cryphonectria parasitica, the causal agent of chestnut blight.” In 2005-2006 he awarded a post-doc Fellow at UNIBO for the “Study on the genes involved in the molecular interaction between the fungus C. parasitica and micovirus CHV1 “. From 2006 until now he obtained from the UNIBO a post-doctoral fellowship and several research grants regarding the Fusarium head blight (FHB) and associated fungi producing mycotoxins. In 2007 he completed a research on “Molecular studies of Fusarium graminearum and F. poae, fungal agents involved in FHB of durum wheat” at the Laboratory Molecular Phytopathology and Mycotoxin Research at the University of Göttingen Georg-August (Germany). Actually his main interest is the identification and biomolecular characterization of different Fusaria plant pathogens responsible of producing mycotoxins in cereal and garlic crops.

Dr. A. Prodi research activity is documented by 64 papers published in International and National Journals and by 55 scientific communications published in the Proceedings of International and National symposia.
