Recently the specific interest of our group is to understand three physiological regulatory mechanisms that might be involved in the regulation of morphological differentiation and antibiotic production in Streptomyces. Our main projects can be summarized as follow:

  1. Studying protein mono-ADP- ribosylation a post-translational protein modification catalyzed by mono-ADP- ribosyltransferase enzymes. These studies can result in better understanding of this endogenous protein modification in Streptomyces coelicolor and S. griseus.
  2. The physiological role of Ca 2+ -binding proteins showing homology to eukaryotic calmodulin, we are interested in the identification of possible downstream effector proteins that might be regulated in a Ca 2+ -dependent manner by the CabB protein in S. coelicolor.
  3. A-factor mediated signaling involved antibiotic synthesis in S. griseus.
