Dragomira Majhen

Dragomira Majhen holds a PhD in molecular biology and biochemistry and is currently employed as a Senior Scientist at the Ruđer Bošković Institute in Zagreb. Her research focuses on the fundamental mechanisms of infection mediated by adenoviral vectors used for gene transfer and vaccination, as well as on elucidating the link between adenovirus intracellular trafficking and the induction of the innate immune response. During her postdoctoral training, she was an MSCA Fellow in the Viral Vaccines division at Janssen, Pharmaceutical Companies of Johnson & Johnson. She has served as principal investigator on several projects, including proof-of-concept and technology transfer projects. She mentors postdoctoral researchers and doctoral and master’s students, and is actively engaged in teaching and science communication. She has co-authored numerous scientific publications and is a co-inventor of one patent. Most recently, she co-founded a biotechnology startup.
