It is our great pleasure to invite you to the 8th Croatian Microbiological Congress with International Participation<\/strong>, which will take place from 22\u201325 September 2026<\/strong> in the inspirational surroundings of Trako\u0161\u0107an<\/strong>, a scenic and almost fairy-tale location that stands among Croatia\u2019s most beautiful landmarks. Building on the long tradition of the Croatian Microbiological Society, this year\u2019s Congress is dedicated to the theme \u201cMicrobiology for a Sustainable Future\u201d<\/strong>, highlighting the essential contributions of microorganisms to human and animal health, environmental resilience, food security, and the emerging bioeconomy. In alignment with the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)<\/strong> and global scientific priorities (ASM, FEMS, WHO), our programme aims to showcase microbiological solutions to today\u2019s most pressing global and local challenges. The scientific programme is structured around five core sessions<\/strong>:<\/p>\n <\/p>\n To foster interdisciplinary thinking and bring a fresh dimension to the Congress, we are introducing new layers to the programme. Cross-disciplinary Modules<\/strong> will use common themes to bridge diverse microbiological disciplines. These will be designed to energize discussions, bridge disciplines, and spark new collaborations, and will go beyond traditional talks\u2014featuring dynamic TED-style contributions, moderated dialogues, science-communication experiences.
