IRB: Job opportunity for postdoctoral research associate in environmental science

Opportunity for Postdoctoral Research Associate to join an HrZZ-funded project entitled ‘Understanding stressor and receptor properties in multi-stressed aquatic environments’.
Applications are invited for a Postdoctoral Research Associate to work on a collaborative project between the Ruđer Bošković Institute (Dr. Rožman), University of Zagreb (Assistant Professor Previšić, Professor Babić), Catalan Institute for Water Research (Professor Petrović) and Charles Sturt University (Professor Novak). The project aims at providing the integrated view of molecular events in general response to the stress and multi-stress events in the aquatic environment. The specific contribution of the Postdoctoral Research Associate will be in the use of multi-omics characterisation techniques for the selective profiling of biofilm and freshwater macroinvertebrates.

Person specification:

The appointee will hold a PhD in Chemistry/Biology or a related subject.

The following skills, attributes and experience are essential:

1. Practical laboratory and computer skills ;
2. Good written and oral communication skills;
3. A high level of commitment to team-based research.

The following skills, attributes and experience are desirable:

1. Practical experience in the use of mass spectrometry
2. Practical experience in exploring diversity an function of microbial communities
3. Experience in mass spectrometry data post-processing
4. Experience in conducting statistical analyses e.g. by using R or equivalent
