Two PhD positions are starting next September and aim at exploring the symbiotic/mixotrophic structure of protistan diversity across Life’s kingdoms and global oceans biogeography and hydrography, as well as understanding the acclimation and adaptation patterns of the key protist players in these ecosystems which cover 71% of our planet and generate half its oxygen. Both students will apply innovative protocols combining eco-bioinformatics, single-cell -omics, and advanced imaging on Tara Oceans datasets and samples. They will integrate the Tara Oceans/Oceanomics international consortium (http://oceans.taraexpeditions.org/en/ http://www.oceanomics.eu/), and benefit from the great and long-standing pluridisciplinary expertise developed over the last 7 years in the collaborative network.
The two projects are: “SYMBIOME: an eco-systemic approach to eukaryotic symbioses in global photic plankton” and “Exploring the Ocean’s biological dark matter using single eukaryotic cell”.

Ovaj sveučilišni priručnik napisalo je petnaestak autora iz desetak visokoškolskih ustanova iz Zagreba i Rijeke, a sadržaj je podijeljen u petnaest, slikama bogato ilustriranih poglavlja u kojima su opisane i obrađene različite bakteriološke, virološke, mikološke, imunološke i molekularno-biološke metode koje se upotrebljavaju u općoj mikrobiologiji koja se studira na nizu različitih fakulteta i visokih škola.
Radi se o vrhunskoj literaturi za potrebe visokoškolske nastave iz veterinarske imunologije. Knjiga je svojim sadržajem namijenjena prvenstveno studentima, ali i veterinarima u praksi i nastavnicima.
