Mart Krupovic is the Head of the Archaeal Virology Unit in the Department of Microbiology at Institut Pasteur of Paris, France. He received his Ph.D. in 2010 in General Microbiology from the University of Helsinki, Finland. His current research focuses on the diversity, origin, and evolution of the virosphere as well as on the molecular mechanisms of virus-host interactions in archaea. Dr. Krupovic serves as an editor or on the editorial boards of several peer-reviewed journals and is a member of the Executive Committee of the International Committee on Taxonomy of Viruses (ICTV). He is an elected Fellow of the American Academy of Microbiology, European Academy of Microbiology and Academia Europaea.
