Nataša Lindič is a researcher at the Department for Biochemistry, Molecular and Structural Biology, Jozef Stefan Institute, Ljubljana, Slovenia. She is interested in human pathogens and in the many ways they interact with the host cell. During her PhD, she studied host antiviral proteins inhibiting retrotransposons and retroviruses. She is currently working on nosocomial microbial pathogens and their surface proteins relevant to drug design. Since the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic, her research interest has expanded to proteases critical for viral entry, and their inhibitors, in order to understand the mechanisms of viral inhibition. She is a part of structural biology lab that uses a range of techniques like molecular and cell biology, biochemistry, macromolecular crystallography and computational biology, collaborating with various specialized groups to gain insights into molecular mechanisms in biological systems.
