FEMS Summer School for Postdocs 2025: Advancing Microbial Solutions for Environmental and Public Health

The Federation of European Microbiological Societies (FEMS) invites early-career researchers to apply for the 2025 Summer School for Postdocs, which will take place from 2 to 10 September 2025 at the Metropol Lake Resort in Ohrid, North Macedonia.

This intensive eight-day program brings together promising postdoctoral researchers and leading scientists to explore how microbiology can address environmental and public health challenges through collaborative learning and interdisciplinary dialogue.

Theme for 2025: Harnessing Microbial Solutions in Environmental Research and One Health

Led by Co-Directors Prof. Joana Falcao Salles and Prof. Tillman Lüders, the 2025 Summer School will focus on the environmental dimensions of human health. The program is designed to equip participants with scientific insight and practical tools for applying microbial solutions in One Health contexts.

Program Highlights

• Expert-led lectures and mentoring from internationally recognized scientists

Eligibility

Applicants must be:

• Currently holding a postdoctoral position, or

• Within five years of having completed a postdoctoral position (excluding special leave)

Application Deadline: 18 April 2025

Registration Fee

The participation fee is €580, which includes:
