Students held nine workshops

December 9, 2019

In the scope of the project activities we held workshops with school children (aged 9-12) in the elementary schools Fran Galović and Gustav Krklec in Zagreb, Turnić in Rijeka and in our partner OCD Bioteka. We had nine workshops with students presenting each of the nine mentoring programmes to the children. Their mentors, an educator, assistants and volunteers from Bioteka facilitated the workshops. Students presented some of the basics of microbiology to the children, as well as everyday dangers and benefits linked to microbes, in age appropriate ways (e. g. through playing games, drawing, using instruments like a microscope). In all of the workshops children responded with enthusiasm whilst students had rewarding experience in preparing and delivering these workshops. Check out our gallery to see how much fun they all had learning about microbes this way!
