University of Zagreb Faculty of Food Technology and Biotechnology, Zagreb, Croatia
Igor Stuparević is Professor of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at the University of Zagreb Faculty of Food Technology and Biotechnology. He works in the Laboratory of Biochemistry at the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry and is the main coordinator at the Faculty for the study programme that the University of Zagreb runs jointly with the University of Orléans, France. His research bridges the gap between basic biology and biotechnological applications, aiming to utilise insights from yeast biology and the mechanisms of RNA processing for the development of new therapeutic strategies and bioprocess technologies. He contributes to a deeper understanding of the complex levels of gene regulation, which has implications for understanding human disease and improving biotechnological processes.
