Tomaž Curk

Tomaž Curk is an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Computer and Information Science, University of Ljubljana, and a member of the Bioinformatics Laboratory. His research applies data mining and machine learning methods to gain insights from complex biological data.

He has extensive expertise in sequence analysis and regulatory gene network discovery, including high-throughput sequencing data analysis of gene expression. His foundational work includes computational methods for iCLIP and RBDmap protein-RNA interaction analysis. He is part of the original development team of the Orange data mining suite and teaches courses in data science and bioinformatics at the University of Ljubljana.
