Ivana Ivančić Baće

Ivana Ivančić Baće is a Professor of Molecular Genetics and Molecular Biology and Biotechnology at the University of Zagreb, Faculty of Science. Her research focuses on the molecular mechanisms of DNA repair, homologous recombination and the CRISPR-Cas adaptive immune system in Escherichia coli. More recently, she has integrated these research areas to better understand the role of host DNA repair proteins in the acquisition of CRISPR-mediated immunity. She completed a research fellowship at the University of Nottingham, United Kingdom, where she established long-term collaborations. She is the principal investigator of two projects funded by the Croatian Science Foundation and a collaborator on several BBSRC funded projects. She has supervised postdoctoral, PhD candidates and more than 30 master’s students. She has co-authored numerous scientific publications and has received two awards in recognition of her scientific achievements.
