doc. Ing. Petra Olejníková, PhD works as an associate professor at the Institute of Biochemistry and Microbiology at the Faculty of Chemical and Food Technology of the Slovak University of Technology in Bratislava, Slovak Republic.

Her scientific field of interest is mycology. She works with filamentous fungi and her research is oriented on the adaptation mechanisms of filamentous fungi and the study of fungal resistance mechanisms. Together with organic and inorganic chemists she is a part of the research group for searching for new potential antimicrobial active compounds. Moreover, her research activities are focused on the fungal physiology as well, specifically on fungal mycoparasitic activity and secondary metabolisms.

She has been a member of the Main Committee of the Czechoslovak Society for microbiology since 2010. Currently, she is the vice-president of the Society.
