Welcome Address

Dear Colleagues and Friends,

It is our great pleasure and privilege to invite you to Sveti Martin na Muri in June 2016 to take part in the 6th Croatian Congress of Microbiology with International Participation.

The Congress is organised under the auspices of Medjimurje County in partnership with LifeClass Terme Sveti Martin and several local community associations. We believe that scientific and social programme will benefit greatly from their contribution and collaboration.

The scientific programme will be meticulously prepared and organised by the Programme Committee. As ever, it will allow for major coverage of the main areas of microbiology and related disciplines through keynote and invited lectures, short oral and poster presentations. Although it is Croatian Congress of Microbiology we see this event as opportunity for bringing together a unique national and international mix of scientists and experts coming from universities, research institutions and industry. Congress programme will be extended to workshops, launch of new publications and exhibition of equipment, diagnostic and microbiological reagents as well as laboratory devices.

Medjimurje is a region rich with culture, scenic beauty and extremely welcoming people. The gentle Medjimurje hills are the perfect setting for numerous vineyards, very well known for its specific locally produced wines. Besides indigenous wine, region is known for specific cooking techniques and authentic culinary delights prepared with traditional and old-fashioned ingredients. Keeping and promoting both local traditions we see LifeClass Terme Sveti Martin an ideal meeting destination and Hotel Golfer conference hall and other facilities perfect place for our Congress.
