The educational workshop of the project “In the Society of Microbes” was held on Friday, March 29, 2019, at the Department of Biology (Faculty of Science, Zagreb). Although the primary target group of the workshop were students participating in the project, it was also useful for mentors, educators and project volunteers. The workshop was held by educators from NGO BIOTEKA (an association for promotion of biology and related sciences), Jelena Likić and Kristina Duvnjak. During the interactive workshop, Jelena and Kristina have covered the basics of educational work with elementary school children.
Finally, Sanja Lepur and Jakov Juraga (Virtualna tvornica) and the illustrator Mirela Ivanković Bielen have joined us and talked about the preparation of materials for the Virtual Museum of Microbes.
The aim is to contribute to the introduction, development, improvement and sustainability of service learning, as a part of the academical learning.
